The Mould 103

Work description

The Mould 103 examines growth and decay at a granular scale and treats the frame as a site for recomposition in generated imaged from diaristic footage. Footage is processed so that movements and colours traces are isolated, layered and re-sequenced by the program. What remains is not a linear account of events but a field of cues—brief condensations of touch, moisture and time—that gather into a steady, breathing rhythm. The work sits within my ongoing diary practice, where fragments are arranged to register atmosphere and habit rather than to confirm identity or story. “Mould” is approached here less as a pathology than as a method: a way images spread, take hold and transform their host. The piece is designed to run as a seamless loop with no opening or closing titles, encouraging viewers to enter at any point and to linger in the cycle of formation and dispersal.
