Square Frame series

Square Frame: Version II builds on the structure of Version I, extending the relation between two on-screen frames into a more dimensional register. While the ratio and sequencing remain constant, the frames are re-sited as if housed within a dark box, inviting a shift from flatness towards volume and depth. Interplay between light and shadow, presence and absence, recalibrates the spatial feel of the work and marks a clear departure from the earlier iteration. The installation includes two box-like objects: one a black, lightless form; the other emitting light from within. These objects respond to shifts in colour and movement within the video, sometimes slipping into the background, sometimes visually coupling with the images, intervening directly in the composition. As video and objects co-stage a single scene, the work tests how space can be sensed and reorganised beyond the frame.
