The Mould Series, 024
The Mould-024
The Mould is a diaristic series attending to the often overlooked sensation of dailiness. The Mould 024 turns to the feeling of irritation. Through movements that repeat without ever resolving, and a tension stretched like a balloon on the verge of bursting, it holds a low, persistent hum of unease in the air. Rather than fixing meaning, the work lets viewers drift through sensory fragments, asking how incomplete impressions and continuously shifting affects congeal into atmosphere. What remains is a lightly structured field where everyday moments and micro-tensions overlap, prompting reflection on the conditions under which atmosphere takes shape.
The process of generative imaging utilised a machine learning program I independently developed. In this project, segments of the collected footage were transformed into still images, intentionally disrupting linear temporality to preserve the raw sensation of the experience as it was captured in the moment. The program was then tailored to the unique movements, colours, and sounds within the footage, resulting in abstract, fluid, and evocative moving images.
